Goldcrest start development to perfect Anti-Microbial Labels for a new age

In the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic, work is underway at Goldcrest to provide Anti-Microbial options for label protection.

Most viruses can exist on cardboard for at least 24 hours, plastics 48-72 hours and paper up to 120 hours.

Although it is unlikely to contract a virus this way, there is the possibility that handling labelled packaging could result in the possible transfer of infections. Therefore, Anti-Microbial surface coatings could be a distinct benefit for some applications, however slight the risk.

Currently we have the potential to offer additives that will protect against SARS-Cov-2. New products are now being tested for potential protection from Covid 19, either as an additive or as a laminate.

In the near future we will need to test our products. If this is of interest to you and wish to be involved, we’d love to hear from you.
